CIVIL RIGHTS/TITLE VI

The Greater Madison MPO and City of Madison, as its administrative and fiscal agent, assure that no person shall on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987 (P.L. 100-259) be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity. The MPO and City of Madison further assure every effort will be made to ensure nondiscrimination in all of its federally funded program activities.

Any individual, group of individuals, or entity that believes they have been subjected to discrimination or retaliation prohibited by Title VI nondiscrimination provisions by Greater Madison MPO may file a complaint with the Greater Madison MPO or the City of Madison:

These procedures do not deny the right of the Complainant to file formal complaints with other state or federal agencies or seek private counsel for complaints alleging discrimination. A person may also file a complaint directly with:

As a subrecipient of federal transportation planning funds through the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), the MPO must execute an annual Title VI/NonDiscrimination Agreement with WisDOT that serves as the Title VI Implementation Plan.  See link below to the MPO’s most recent agreement:
